We began Norland Landscape in Madison, WI in 2007 with a passion for bringing landscape dreams to reality. We are a locally owned and operated family business, located just north of Madison on a 5 acre farm in the wonderful community of Waunakee, WI.
Norland Landscape believes in giving back to the community and we donate our landscape design services and time to some amazing local organizations including Attic Angel Association, Waunakee Chamber of Commerce, the children’s recreational programs in the Village of Maple Bluff, and Go Red for Women.
With a life-long passion for plants and gardens, Karl has worked in the horticulture industry for 25 years. Originally from the west coast in Oregon, his professional work started at Northwest Horticulture, a national perennial grower north of Seattle. There he designed a 45,000 sq ft display garden, which was featured in two issues of Better Homes and Gardens (see article below).
After relocating to Wisconsin, Karl joined McKay Nursery in Waterloo as a Wholesale Account Manager and also did residential landscape design sales. Karl earned his B.A. from Western Washington University and also studied Mandarin Chinese at Shanghai University. Through his extensive travels throughout Asia and western and eastern Europe, he has studied a wide range of gardens styles bringing depth and creativity to his landscape design.
Karl Norland's landscape designs, fences, pergolas, living walls, and arbor designs have been featured in 2 issues of Better Homes and Gardens. This article is from Better Homes and Gardens 2002 Simply Perfect Garden Structures special interest magazine.
